ABOUT
A Retail Team Leader will build skills and knowledge such as:

Understand the customer profile of the business, their purchasing habits across a retail calendar year and how to meet and exceed their needs. Know the best ways to drive the team to increase sales, secure customer loyalty and attain business targets.

Understand the purpose of the business including its vision, objectives, and brand / business standards, how they compare to its competitors and how own role, and the team, help to achieve them.

Understand how own actions and those of the team can contribute to the overall financial performance of the business by increasing sales e.g., through product positioning, and minimising costs through effective stock control and prevention of theft.

Understand how to organise the team daily to achieve objectives and recognise the importance of contingency planning to meet business requirements; know limits of authority when deputising for line manager.

Understand the importance of business compliance to legal requirements and supporting the team to operate in line with business policy and procedures.

​Understand how current and emerging technologies support retail operations and sales whether customer facing or remote, and how best to operate them to achieve an efficient and effective service.

ENTRY
REQUIRMENTS
Where a Retail Supervisor has not already achieved Level 2 English and Maths, they must do so before completing End-Point Assessment.
​
Employers will set their own entry requirements, but it is expected that the individual would have worked with an operational role within the industry to start on this apprenticeship standard.

DURATION
The apprenticeship will take 12 months to complete.
How It Works
1. Initial Scoping Session
We provide an initial scoping session, which includes everything from mapping the Job Role to the correct Level Apprenticeship, agreeing delivery programmes and helping employers understand the apprenticeship funding process.
2. Enrolment
We enrol/induct the learners and explain how a bespoke delivery plan, based on the requirements of the business, will work in practical terms.
3. Delivery
Over the duration of the training we support the learners in the workplace with face to face and remote sessions. We also support the apprentices’ mentor and/or line manager's involvement in overseeing the Apprenticeship training.
4. Assessment
We arrange all relevant end point assessment and prepare the learner on what to expect during end point assessment.
5. Certification
Following the successful completion of the training the learner receives their certification.
